National Board Certified Teachers

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

Jordan School District offers three pathways to help teachers on their National Board Journey:

NBCT Candidate Canvas Resources

  • Access self-guided tools to navigate the NBCT website and the USBE Salary Supplement for National Board Certified Teachers (SSNBCT) page
  • Find schedule and links to cohort Zoom meetings
  • Apply to work with a Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF)

JSD NBCT Cohort Meetings

  • Join monthly cohort meetings to explore key aspects of your National Board journey
  • Attend as you are able—each session provides valuable insights and support

Paired with a Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF):

  • Request personalized guidance from a District NBCT selected to serve as your PLF
  • Receive feedback on your writing and ongoing support throughout your NBCT process
  • Benefit from mentorship funded by the USBE Master Grant
  • Access a PLF by:
    • paying your registration fee
    • creating a component plan
    • completing the application in the NBCT Canvas Resources
