Jordan Credit Center

Jordan Credit Center serves grades 9-12 in the Jordan School District. We offer flexible enrollment and online options, including original credit, grade replacement, credit recovery, and demonstrated competency assessments. Our mission is to support students in earning the credits needed for high school graduation.

To register for any options with Jordan Credit Center, students and parents must meet with their school counselor.


Jordan Credit Center Options

Courses

Original Credit
    • Course Structure: Asynchronous online course that offers a complete learning experience equivalent to a traditional classroom course.
    • Purpose: Designed for students who need original credit for one class.
    • Grading: Letter grade and graduation credit. Earn .25 credits per quarter.
    • Note: Students may only enroll in one course at a time to ensure focused learning. For those interested in taking multiple courses simultaneously, please visit Kings Peak High School for a more comprehensive online high school experience.
Grade Replacement
    • Course Structure: Asynchronous online course that offers a complete learning experience equivalent to a traditional classroom course.
    • Purpose: Designed for students looking to replace a previously earned grade in the course.
    • Grading: Letter grade to replace current grade. Earn .25 credits per quarter.
Credit Recovery
    • Course Structure: Focuses on essential standards, not a full course.
    • Fee: $50 per quarter credit. (Fee will be added to the student's Skyward account.)
    • Purpose: Designed for students needing to recover credits for courses they did not pass.
    • Grading: Pass/Fail. Credits earned will not affect GPA.

Demonstrated Competency Assessment
  • Purpose: Original first-time credit through a demonstrated competency assessment- this is not credit recovery or grade replacement
    • Students are eligible if they have never taken the course in an accredited school.
  • Grading: Credit for passing assessments will be awarded at the district level and applied to the student’s transcript at the home school location. Letter grades of A or B. There is no GPA or grade posting penalty for an unsuccessful assessment attempt.
    • If competency is not demonstrated, student will be required to take the class.
    • Each test can be taken one time per academic year.
  • Student and Parent must review their PCCR with their school counselor to verify that DCA credits will work for their educational pathway.
  • Fee of $50 for all World Language DCA.
  • Deadline to sign up for assessments for the 2024-2025 school year is April 14, 2025.
